☼ Welded Gabion Basket Description

Welded gabion baskets are wire mesh containers welded with high quality steel wires, which are then screwed together. They can be filled on site with hard, durable stone to form large-scale gravity-fed structures. Welded gabion baskets are mainly used for protecting bridges, preventing rockfalls and preventing erosion of riverbanks, etc.

☼ According to the surface treatment, welded gabion basket including  galvanized gabion basket and PVC coated gabion basket.

Type 1: Hot dipped galvanized: normal zinc coating is 40-80g/㎡, heavy galvanized gabions zinc coating is 220-300g/㎡. The higher the zinc content, the better the corrosion resistance.

Type 2: PVC coated gabions are generally welded with galvanised or Galfan wires and then dipped or sprayed with plastic for higher corrosion resistance.

☼ Connection Types of welded gabion basket: spiral wire connection, lacing wire conncetion, C ring connection, U clip connection

type 1: spiral wire connection gabion basket, it is easy to install, simply rotate the spring wire into the welded mesh joints, very strong.

type 2: lacing wire conncetion gabion basket, it is slightly more complicated than spring wire, requires manual tightening.

☼ Welded Gabion Basket Installation

1.Stand up the welded gabion panels in all four directions, and if there is a middle diaphragms, stand up as well.

2. Use spiral wire to rotate into the intersection of two welded gabion panels to make the two panels link up, you can also use lacing wire, C-ring, U-clip etc to connect the neighbouring panels.

3. Fix the stiffeners on the two horizontal wires in the middle of the mesh panels, make sure the stiffeners are across the corners, which can improve the strength of the gabion basket and avoid deformation.

4. Fill the welded gabion basket with suitable sized stones, soil or sand.

5. Cover the lid and fix it with spring wire, lacing wire, C ring, U clip etc.

6. Arrange the gabion box according to the design requirements.

☼ 1. Welded gabion baskets have a wide range of applications and can be used for protection of riverbanks, bridges and slopes, and soil reinforcement.

☼ 2. Welded gabion baskets can be combined with geotextiles and filled with soil inside, and can be used as defensive barriers for military protection against injuries caused by blast shockwaves or shrapnel, as well as for flood control.
